Do what you love and never give up
"My mission is to push mental and physical limits while competing at the highest level and inspiring others to reach their full potential both in sports and life!"
I am Dominik Sowieja, a passionate triathlete and extreme sportsman. After studying robotics and automation, I currently work as an engineer in Esslingen (Germany) and I compete as a professional triathlete over middle and long distance races.
On my journey to becoming a professional, I started my career in 2011 in short-distance races. In 2014, I won the german middle distance championship in my age group. In following years I added 1x Ironman victory (age group), 2x european championship titles (middle distance age group and duathlon short) and 3x german championship titles (middle distance age group, duathlon and cross-duathlon elite) to my achievments.
Since 2017, I compete as a professional with the constant goal of a top position at the Ironman World Championship and a permanent place among the world's best over the long distance. As a professional, I achieved 1x podium, 13x top 7 and 17x top 10 finishes in Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races.
My ultimate goal is to push my boundaries as much as possible to see what I am capable of and to inspire others to do what they love and what they are passionate about. #dowhatyoulove
Life doesn't always go according to plan. I'm proud that I can do what I love despite setbacks such as overcoming a severe asthma illness in my youth and a cycling accident with several spinal fractures in 2017. I never stopped believing and that's why I am still able to race as a professional athlete.
Stay positive - keep believing - never give up

My passion for sports began at a young age.
In 2016, I teamed up with Batrix Filmstudios
